KOCHI: Defending champions Chennai Rhinos defeated Kerala Strikers by one wicket in the Celebrity Cricket League T-20 match at Hyderabad yesterday.Kerala, which decided to bat first, were skittled in 18.4 over for 112 runs. Saiju Kurup and Rajeev Pillai tried to maintain the run rate but Saiju ran himself out after scoring a composed 30 off 39 and Rajeev fell after a blitzkrieg 43 runs off 33.
Kerala lost wickets in regular intervals thereafter as skipper Mohanlal, Mohan, Nikhil Menon and Kunchako Boban returned pavilion without disturbing scorers.
Shiva and Vishnu took two wickets apiece for Rhinos.
The Chennai outfit, led by Vishal, chased the target successfully in 19.1 overs but not before losing nine wickets. Saiju Kurup took three wickets.
Kerala Strikers will play Mumbai Heros today at Kochi international stadium.
